Our Practice
Dr. Shilpa Karri envisions a practice where a small dental team will be dedicated to giving you a calm and comfortable experience every time you come to visit our office.
This is why she named the practice Serene Dental.
Originally established in the late 1990s, the practice was passed on to Dr. Karri from Dr. Mark Schreiner upon his retirement. You will still see some of the team members who have worked here for several years.
We treat every one of our patients like family, educating them about oral health so they are armed with knowledge when making decisions about dental treatments.
At Serene Dental we aim to provide our patients with the best dental treatment they can get. This means that we customize dental plans to suit each and every individual’s specific needs.
Our mission is to provide topnotch dental care, using the best products and tools available and affordable at the same time.
About Dr. Karri
Dr. Shilpa Karri is a graduate of University of Pacific in California. She finished her DDS degree in 2013 and later on moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where she now resides with her husband and two daughters.
She lives by the motto “a healthy smile leads to a healthy body”. She has always believed that everyone should be educated about dental health and makes sure that each of her patients understands how to properly take care of their teeth. A very good listener, she always gives her honest opinion and would only recommend a product or procedure if it is something that she also recommends for her own family.
She ensures that each patient is fully informed and involves them in all aspects of dental care. Her patients can expect to be given the best options so they can enjoy a treatment plan that is tailored to fit their unique needs.
She constantly updates her skills and knowledge by continuing to attend education courses, seminars, and trainings that keeps her updated on advancements in dentistry and overall health.

Dr. Peters
Oral & Maxillo Facial Surgeon
Dr. Peters received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Baylor University and went on to graduate from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston’s School of Dentistry in 1986. Following his graduation from dental school, he completed the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program in 1990 at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He soon began his private practice in Allen, Texas, later moving his practice to Paris, Texas.
Dr. Peters’s full-time Dallas oral surgery practice serves the needs of general dentists who wish to offer their patients the unique benefit of having expert oral surgery care provided within the comfort and familiarity of their home dental practice. Dr. Peters takes great pride in focusing on his patients’ safety and comfort, while ensuring that they receive personal attention, consideration for their concerns, and unsurpassed quality of surgical care.
Dr. Peters is a native of Dallas and returned to the area in 2018 to be closer to family. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and with his fiancée, Catherine, who is a commercial pilot. Dr. Peters is also an active member of Glory of Zion Church in Corinth.
Shelby
Registered Dental Hygienist
Shelby was born and raised in Arlington and earned a Bachelors of sciences in Dental Hygiene from Texas A & M College of Dentistry, Caruth School of Dental Hygiene. “Growing up one of my favorite activities to do was going to the dentist! I knew from a young age that I want to help people have beautiful smiles. I love being a dental hygienist because I get to educate patients during a routine cleaning visit and also use my skills and knowledge to accurately clean and care for my patients teeth leaving them with a healthy beautiful smile as well as a healthy life” Her patients say she is very gentle. When not working in the office, she loves spending time with family and friends, working out and travelling.
Sharon
Registered Dental Assistant
Sharon has been working in the dental field since 1992. She grew up in the DFW area. She has worked both as a dental assistant and front office assistant. She loves what she does, it shows in her dedication to dentistry. Her main goal with every patient is to make sure their experience is as pleasant as possible.
Sharon and her husband Jody have 4 dogs in the country, Southwest of Fort Worth. She has a son and step-son both the same age and both have a daughter. In her spare time she likes to spend time with her family and dogs. She also enjoys reading and watching movies.
